Welcome Aboard

Welcome to the USS Frank E. Evans (DD754)’s new blog site.

I am John Coffey and I served aboard her from 1962 to 1964 as a Radarman (OS to you newer types.) You will also notice the name 'Coffeypot' on the side. This is my regular blog and my blog name(title.) However, I will be maintaining this blog, and I look forward to communicating with you.

This space is dedicated to the men who made her their home, as well as the families of those who served.

The blog is also a work in progress. It will be updated and redesigned as time permits and from any suggestions any of you may provide. After all, this site is for you and I will make every effort to provide you with the things you would like to see.

This is a place where you will be able to ask questions, make comments and suggestions, post any stories and/or pictures that you would like to share, and to seek assistance in locating other crew members from your time on board.

We can start by having you comment on this posting. Just click on the ‘Comment’ button below. After typing in your comment (if you do not have a blog, please leave your name at the end of your comment) and I will respond as soon as possible. You may not see your comment or question immediately as I have set up the site to be monitored for security and the protection of others. I will, however, be checking this site out several times a day.

Also, if you have any stories or pictures you would like published, just email them to me and I will have them posted, usually the same day, and others will be able to comment back to you. My email is johnjudyc@att.net.

Let us know when you have an event in your life; births, deaths, awards, community activities, etc. What better way to let everyone know what is going on in your life?

This is enough for now. I have other plans and ways to connect to other sites such as The USS Frank E Evans (DD754)’s web site and the Tin Can Sailors’ site. I will also be glad to add any sites you think would add to or support this location, too. Just let me know.

Let the communication begin…

  3. Had a great time at the Evans reunion and was very glad that I went.
There was a nice gathering for the Veterans Day Parade in Long Beach. Thanks to Roy Queen, we were riding in style! He has been so kind to drive his beautiful truck so none of us have to walk! Nice to see everyone there and am anxious to see pictures.
    What's new with everyone else?
